Flamco - Air & Dirt Seprator
About
• Since 1956, Flamco has worked to develop, produce, and sell high-quality components for hydronic systems. Sustainable heating and cooling is an everyday life concern.
• Hydronic systems help reduce energy and emissions and therefore support sustainability in every step of the building life cycle.
• We pave the way for sustainable heating and cooling for eco-friendly residential, commercial, and industrial buildings through innovative products like magnetic air & dirt separators, expansion vessels, and vacuum deaerators.
Working
Introduction: The air and dirt separator is installed in the HVAC system to remove air bubbles and dirt particles from the water circulating through the system.
• System Entry: Water containing air and dirt enters the separator through the inlet pipe.
• Air Separation: The internal patented structure of the separator encourages air bubbles to rise to the top of the unit where they accumulate.
• Automatic Air Venting: Accumulated air is expelled from the system through an automatic air vent located at the top of the separator.
• Dirt Separation: Dirt particles, being denser than water, settle at the bottom of the separator due to gravity.
• Dirt Collection: The separator has a collection chamber at the bottom where dirt particles accumulate.
• Dirt Removal: Collected dirt is periodically removed from the system through a manual or automatic purge valve at the bottom of the separator.
• Continuous Operation: The separator continuously removes air and dirt from the system, ensuring that clean water circulates through the HVAC system.
• System Efficiency: By removing air and dirt, the separator improves heat transfer efficiency, reduces wear and tear on system components, and helps maintain optimal system performance.
• Maintenance: Regular maintenance involves checking and cleaning the separator, ensuring the air vent and purge valve function correctl|y to k1e4ep the system running smoothly.
