Flamco - Pressurization Unit
About
• Since 1956, Flamco has worked to develop, produce, and sell high-quality components for hydronic systems. Sustainable heating and cooling is an everyday life concern.
• Hydronic systems help reduce energy and emissions and therefore support sustainability in every step of the building life cycle.
• We pave the way for sustainable heating and cooling for eco-friendly residential, commercial, and industrial buildings through innovative products like magnetic air & dirt separators, expansion vessels, and vacuum deaerators.
Working
• Pressure Maintenance: The pressurization unit ensures the system maintains a constant pressure by adding or removing air or water as needed to accommodate changes in volume due to temperature fluctuations.
• Integration with Expansion Tank: The expansion tank absorbs excess pressure from the heating or cooling system as the water expands when heated and contracts when cooled, preventing pressure spikes.
• Water Management: The pressurization unit controls the air volume in the expansion tank to maintain optimal pressure levels, ensuring the HVAC system operates efficiently and safely.
• Pressure Sensors and Control: Sensors monitor system pressure continuously, and the control system adjusts the pressurization unit’s operation to maintain the desired pressure within the HVAC system.
• Preventing Water Hammer and System Stress: By maintaining consistent pressure and using the expansion tank to manage volume changes, the pressurization unit helps prevent water hammer (sudden pressure spikes) and reduces stress on pipes and other system components.
